Endowment for Faculty
Thacher competes with the nation's top boarding schools for outstanding faculty. We know from annual peer comparisons that our salaries for faculty are not competitive. The Strategic Plan calls for us to be within fifteen percent of the median of our peers. We are at the low end of that range with most junior faculty, and we are significantly below that range with our most senior faculty and administrators.
The cost to create a named Faculty Chair is $2 Million.
